After earning her MFA in film from CalArts, Vashti Harrison’s insightful films and documentaries have gone to be celebrated at film festivals around the world. Now a freelance graphic designer and a picture-book illustrator, the Brooklyn-based artists latest project brings her storytelling talents to the page, celebrating 40 Black women who have changed the course of the planet.

Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History is a beautiful picture book that explains each historical figure’s impact and accomplishments alongside a gorgeous illustration.
